Emer-G-Med paramedics said the accident happened on the N4 close to the Simon Vermooten offramp.
"On appearance on scene a family vehicle was found to have moved a few times, launching the inhabitants," said Kyle van Reenan, representative for Emer-G-Med Paramedics.
He said a man regarding 30 years of age was proclaimed dead at the scene.
A lady of about similar age and two youngsters, matured 12 and 5, supported moderate wounds.

It is accepted the family were en route to a close by clinic after the lady was harmed in a fall at home.

Van Reenan expressed: "Reports from the scene are that various workers were left harmed. Two of them, a mother and child, were tracked down in a basic condition and were dealt with and settled on scene before a choice was made to carrier them through to an expert office."
