KZN police are seeking help in identifying the body of woman that was found dumped in the Mevamhlophe area on the R34 near the P230 Dlangubo turn-off on Thursday morning.
This was confirmed by King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson Captain Siyanda Shangase who stated that the woman had bruises on her neck which indicate she might have been strangled.
‘She had a healed bruise on her knee and a fresh bruise on her cheek, as well as an open wound on her right eye and head,’ Shangase said.
The deceased was aged between 30 and 35 years, approximately 1.7m tall, had an Afro hairstyle, and was light in complexion.
She was found wearing a black T-shirt and white tracksuit pants, with a tattoo on her right forearm.
‘Her body was covered with a white curtain and she was half naked,’ Shangase said.
‘We urge members of the community or her next of kin to come forward.’
A case of murder was registered at Empangeni Saps for further investigation.
