Jilted man takes his ex girlfriend to court demanding his R650 back after she dumped him

A relationship can go horribly wrong in the blink of an eye.

A Zimbabwean man thought he had found paradise of earth after he met a beautiful woman.

He even gave her US$50 (about R650) to start a business. But that was his biggest mistake as they quickly fell out of love. He is now demanding to be reimbursed that money.

Now that the relationship has irretrievably broken down, Allen Chivesu wants Tatenda Kureya to pay back the money.

Mutare magistrate, Ms Purity Gumbo presided over the matter.

He told the courts that his attempt to claim back his money had been met with strong resistance. Especially from Tatenda's family.

"She told me that she would pay back the money when he business blossomed. I evev have a written agreement in that regard," he claimed.

Tatenda denied that she had agreed to pay back the money saying that it came as a gift to upgrade her life.

However, Ms Gumbo ruled in Chivesu's favour telling him to pay back the money.
