4 things you should know about making love when you're HIV positive.

1.Be honest to your partner

The first thing you need to consider are issues of disclosure- how to protect your partner and assess their hiv status, plus what to do if things go wrong says Dr Francois venter.

Deputy director at wits reproductive health and hiv institute and associate professor in the department of medicine at wits University.

Plan how to have the conversation, negotiate safe love making and encourage your partner to get tested. And have a handy plan B in place in case a condom break. Such as taking PEP which prevents HIV transmission.

2. Use condoms they work

There lot of myth around condoms not being safe enough to protect against HIV transmission, but if used correctly and if they dont burst or come off, they're 100% safe.

3.stick to your treatment

With the advert of safe and effective anti-retrovirals, your health returns to normal and your ability to pass the virus is reduced almost to zero so accidents with condoms, or anything else are much less likely to get consequences for your partner.

4. Oral is low risk for passing HIV

Dr venter says you've got bigger risk of getting struck by lightning than getting HIV from Oral.

However you can still catch other sti's from unprotected oral.

It seems people have came into terms with HIV, They Now Understand The Disease Better And They understand That it's a manageable disease and it can never kill you, only if you take your medication or rather treatment correctly.

People who are hiv positive have been having relationships with people who are hiv negative and they understand how they suppose to protect each other.
