I am an avid fan of Mina Nawe House but even I have to admit that there are problematic issues whenever an episode airs.
Couples who are in toxic situations and believe the show is their last resort come there to consult with experts to deal with their relationship issues however dire... and they do get dire, believe me.
A shot from a gun means true love?
I didn't think first episode would show me such violence though. Not in the literal sense dear reader, but rather in the form of a story told by the guest Pastor and his wife. A story in which he shot her months before they got married and it somehow turned into a story of hope.
I was shocked. Sitting there watching a grown woman explain how forgiveness is a foundation of love, as justification for his actions.
It makes me reflect on the abuse rates of this country and not wonder where this stems from. If people in disastrous relationships are being given advise from a couple that shouldn't exist, can we expect anything good? I want to hold onto hope but it's like the blind leading the blind.
Publicly declaring your intimacy issues
The couple's got to come up one by one to speak about their issues openly and it was uncomfortable. I realise confrontation is hard but having to speak for yourself in front of perfect stranger is a process I never want to go through, respectfully speaking, I would choose literally anything else.
Mina nawe house is a necessary for the couples who come to the show. But I feel like sometimes the women bear the brunt and fault of their relationships falling apart. Maybe as the episodes keep playing we'll see another side of these couples.
As for the woman who did not even arrest the man who shot her. I don't know what kind of love she had for that man to stay with him but I highly encourage you dear readers, to see it as the red flag that it is.
Thank you for you time!
