During this weeks episode of Our Perfect Wedding we met Mr and Mrs Phithi. A wonderful couple who had met 28 years ago. Coming from a strict background, Baba Phithi and his wife had to meet on the 19 of August 1993 while her mother was out of town. It the cutest of all meet-cutes. They both knew from that day on that they wanted to be together. The road to their happy ending wasn't always paved with gold.
There have been some problems along the way stemming from Mrs. Phithi having an ancestral calling. They are a Christian family and her husband is a priest so it made sense he would be apprehensive about that side of her. However, being the kind of supportive couple they are, they managed to come up with a compromise that has worked out for them.
The proof of their longevity is in the wedding the managed to create with each other. Everything was up to a high standard and I think it was one of the best wedding I've seen this season. The venue, the dresses, the decor and even the guests knew the assignment! It was a spectacular display from start to finish and I was captivated by them both.
The bride's dress was phenomenal, keeping her modest with see-through sleeves. The entire look with the veil was gorgeous and her husband matched her energy. His royal blue suit stunned me from the outset and looked even better during the ceremony outside. The sunshine made him look so handsome.
The guests were also dressed appropriately. There was no jean in sight and I was so grateful. Oftentimes we see that when there are weddings people dress casually. But these guests respected the couple. It was a peak wedding made even better by the bride arriving in a boat and the fireworks display!
Mr and Mrs Phithi were clearly excited as they danced together and laughed together. May they have many more years to come!
