I’ve been married for ten years. My now-husband cheated on me a lot in the early days of our relationship but not since we married, and I’ve never cheated on him until now.
We’re very close and I do love him, even if I’m not in love with him. He’s 40 and I’m 38 and I work in a doctor’s surgery as a receptionist. My lover used to be a patient in our practice but he moved away.
He’s 37 and I always fancied him. I then ran into him in a café in town six months ago. He recognised me and asked if he could join me at my table. He explained that he was back to visit his mother, who had been ill.
We had a lovely time and, when we had finished our coffee, he said: “Hey, can I buy you lunch?” We went for lunch at a bistro down the road and the sexual tension was incredible. He told me I looked amazing and I was on such a high.
He promised to call me and we met up again the next week. He came right out and asked me whether I’d be prepared to have an affair with him. He checked us into a local hotel and we slept together, which was off the scale. It felt so wrong but so right, too.
We’ve carried on our affair and even went to see Black Sabbath at the O2 together I told my husband I was going with a girlfriend from work. I had the best time and felt like a teenager all over again.
My husband and I haven’t had slept together for years. I guess we just drifted into the friendzone.
My lover is bi-polar and suffers from depression. He wants me to leave my husband but I am unsure. I know I can’t go on like this but I feel I want him in my life.
