When the parties to a marriage are making vows the divorce is always something out of everyone's mind. Death is always presumed to be the possible reason for the parties to break up as the partners always vow to be together until death does them apart.
Divorces are indisputably the most draining experiences ever. The divorce proceedings are handled in terms of the Divorce Act 70 of 1979. They are facilitated by the Regional Court of the Magistrate Court and as we all know that the court proceedings are too costly. In addition to costs for attorneys and administration, there are financial implications that result from such proceedings. In some cases depending on the facts and matrimonial regime, the party who jeopardizes the other may have to maintain his or her ex-spouse. In this article, we will look at the public figures who are coining it via divorce.
MaMkhize's ex-husband Sbu Mpisane.
After filing the divorce papers to Sbu he allegedly refused to go back to the taxi industry. He demanded that Shawn pay him R200 000 per month as monthly spousal maintenance on top of that the R600 000 monthly salary he was getting per month getting it from her. He also obtained a few properties including Royal AM.
Black Coffee and Enhle Mbali.
When things took a quick turn between Black Coffee and the actress Mbali was expecting a lot of money from the divorce. She allegedly demanded R4 million from Black Coffee claiming that he made her lose a lot of money since she couldn't attend the gigs and TV shows. Enhle demanded that Black Coffee pays for the legal fees which amounted to over R4 million-plus R130 000 per month for spousal and child support.
To break it down it is R80 000 for child support, R30 000 for spousal support, R17 000 for cosmetics, and an additional amount for medical bills. However, since the matrimonial regime was marriage out of community of property Enhlw only got 65 000 for spousal and child support.
Nhlanhla Ncinza and Teekay Mafu.
Nhlamjla allegedly bagged multimillions from the divorce with her ex-husband Teekay in 2019. She bought a luxury multimillion house and 2 cars. Teekay agreed to give her R10 000 as the monthly spousal support and another R10 000 for her son. The house is worth over R300 000 which was paid for by Teekay.
