Prayer: Lord, Please Don't Let Me Misunderstand The Purpose Of My Existence, Let My Life Glorify You

"In whom also we have gained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his own will." Ephesians 1:11

Read: Romans 8:28–31

A frequent definition of purpose is "the reason for which something is done or why something exists." As a result, it is correct to state that a product's purpose can only be established by the product's creator and maker. According to Genesis 1: 1, God is the Creator and Maker of the Heavens, the Earth, and everything in them. The Bible claims that God created man in His image, male and female, according to Genesis 1:27. As a result, God is the only one who has the authority to speak authoritatively about the reason for a person's being.

The Bible makes it quite apparent that God created man for companionship. The created cannot in any way associate with the creator on an equal footing. In pure worship, utter awe and terror, and total surrender to God's will, we are to commune with Him. God values this relationship so much that when it was damaged due to Adam and Eve's sin, He paid the ultimate price of His Son's sacrifice to reconcile us to Himself. As a result, 1 Peter 2:9 says:

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an unique people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

"To show forth the praises of God who brought you out of darkness into His wonderful light," God's highest goal for you is revealed in this text. As a result, we were created primarily to serve as worshipers of God, our creator. In Jesus' name, may you live up to God's expectations for His glory to be seen in every aspect of your life.

However, many Christians in the twenty-first century have mistakenly equated the purpose of existence with personal ambitions and aims. They are occupied with pursuing ephemeral personal ambitions in the belief that they are serving God's purpose. May your efforts not be in vain. "We are predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of his own will". This indicates that no one can choose his or her own life purpose because it was decided before the universe was created and is hence not available to choice. Every human being on this planet is here to honor God.
