The Almighty God is the world's greatest environmentalist. As we can see in Genesis 2:15, God told Adam to ensure that the lovely garden He had given him did not suffer from decay or pollution. Pollution of the land or other God-given gift can occur in a variety of ways. All kinds of evil, especially idolatry and human sacrifice, can poison the soil.
We are confronted with God's earnestness for the preservation of His creation in Genesis 2:15. God described what His chosen people must avoid in Deuteronomy 18:9-13, which says in part, “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.” Deuteronomy 18:9
According to Exodus 20:3, idolatry is the most serious transgression against God. When Adam chose to obey the devil instead of the Lord, he created his own god. Many people believe that idolatry is when you worship an image that you have placed on the ground. In the Church, there are idolaters—people who prefer to obey the devil rather than God. They attend Church programs on a regular basis, yet they never do what God wants them to do. “And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they seat before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them,” Ezekiel 33:32.
People poison the soil by disregarding God's word, bringing an eternal curse onto themselves and future generations. According to Genesis 3:17, this is exactly what the first man did, and God cursed the land as a result. To keep the land which the Lord has given us to inhabit, we must obey Him and live according to His word, when we do this, our land will be free from evil and it will yield great increase for our pleasure, according to Deuteronomy 28:1-13.
I strongly encourage you to dedicate your life to Jesus Christ today and to begin living according to God's word right away. If you have polluted the land in any manner, repent and ask God for forgiveness so that God may send you a period of refreshing (Acts 3:19).
