How to know if somebody is being controlled by a demon
Over the years, researchers have long invoked thought experiments involving demons, devils, golems or genies. In her latest book, Bedeviled, historian of science Jimena Canales argues that these strange beasts aren’t creatures of superstition and pseudoscience, but useful ideas that have had an important role in the advancement of science.
Christianity is clear about the subject of existence of demons. They exist and the most comfortable accommodation for demons is the human body. However, they don't just stay there without action. The moment they enter they immediately take over and make the human body their administrative office where they carry out activities consistent with their nature. These may include evil, unclean and wicked things.
Jesus Christ confirms existence of demons and their operations in his teaching in Matthew 12:43-45. "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation."
From the above, we find that demons don’t have place to stay. As such, they always look for human body as homes. In fact, they need human beings to operate. Also, we understand that when demons enter a man or woman’s body, they take over and make his or her condition worse.
Since they are evil, they are characters are also evil. In other words, demons act out their bad characters through human body that they possessor live in. Hence, demon possessed person may exhibit symptoms of diseases since demons are unclean.
Even though such person is good by nature, the presence of a demon in his body manipulate him to misbehave and do or say things contrary to His spirit but consistent with the nature of the demon possessing him.
In other words, a person finds himself doing what the demon wants or likes. So if it is alcoholic demon you find the person drawn to excessive drinking. It is not him drinking. It is demon drinking through him. The same applies to all other characters. Sometimes, it may be smoking or violence- the demon live its life or character and attitudes through people.
This is why one must not be too judgmental with people but rather pray for them because there is always a demon behind every bad character in people. There is something pushing the person and suggesting things to the people.
If you are experiencing this, don’t be too hard on yourself, rather pray to God to deliver you or go to a bible believing church for deliverance. Don’t forget to seek guidance from matured and sincere Christians.
