Here is how you can win spiritual battles

MSkip Is it possible that the psychological and emotional struggles I am going through are an attack by Satan and his demons? Years ago I studied the occult. I made some terrible moral choices that left me with terrible fear and deep shame.

I prayed and tried to put it all behind me, but every time I seem to be making progress I fall back into guilt, remorse, anger, helplessness, and hopelessness. How can I break this cycle of spiritual warfare? ANSWER: As evangelical Christians who, if we take the Bible seriously as the living word of the only true God, believe in the reality of the spiritual battle and the invisible spirit world, so yes:

Your suffering may have a demonic component, but the good new is that Satan and his followers have no complete or ultimate power over real disciples of Jesus Christ, people who have placed their lives completely in his hands and who use his blood as a cover for their sins.

Winning the Spiritual Battle When you belong to Jesus there are many things you can do to free yourself from the destructive burden of a painful past. Admit that you are a sinner and ask Christ for forgiveness of your sins every day. Then trust God. you will free yourself from the forces of darkness. Pray and read the scriptures regularly.

Spending time with God and his word will help you get to know him better and be sure of his love for you. Personalize Psalm 91 as a covenant prayer - trust the Lord's refuge. Remember that God is stronger than the devil. Christ defeated Satan on the cross so that he could free you from Satan's traps and protect you in his grace. This is what the apostle James had in mind when he wrote:

So you to God.Resist the devil and he will flee from you ”(James 4: 7). Keep a journal of all your thoughts and emotions. Write as if you were speaking directly to the Lord; This will help you be honest with yourself about your struggles. Read what you've written to find out how Satan tries to deceive you (for example, through fear, bitterness, or shame).

Then shred these pages as a physical reminder that you are laying your battles at the foot of the cross. Escape the lies of the devil and his evil spirits. Think about what you discovered in your journal. If necessary, pray through the prayer of deliverance and the prayer of repentance and renunciation. Be open to any answers the Lord has.

Find a trusted (same-sex) pastor, Christian counselor, or believer with whom you can speak openly.Invite them to pray with and for you. Remember: this is not the kind of thing that you can do on your own. As James says in another passage, “Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that he may be healed.” (James 5:16)
