For the love of money is the root of all evil, as Paul says in 1 Timothy 6:10: "Which while some craved after, they strayed from the truth, and pierced themselves through with many pains." 

Contrary to popular belief, this verse does not suggest that money is inherently evil; rather, it suggests that immorality and depravity are brought on by people's excessive desire for wealth. 

People all across the world are so drunk with greed that they don't care how they acquire their money as long as they do. 

The unusual stories of people turning to extremes to obtain cash at any cost are never in short supply in Zimbabwe, where rampant poverty and the dreadful effects of an economy on the verge of collapse have driven some to murder and others to join cults.
