“Keep the sabbath day holy by remembering it.” Exodus 20:8.
The Sabbath Law is not a goal in itself, but rather a means to an end which is rest. Rest is a Divine Blessing granted by God on His Creation, especially mankind. Even the land He gave man to live on needs to take a break.
Leviticus 25:2 “Speak to the children of Israel and tell them, 'When you enter the land that I give you, the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord".
“And on the seventh day, God completed His work that He had created; and on the seventh day, He rested from all His work that He had created.” Genesis 2:2
Rest is not only a command from God, but it is also an act of Divine kindness. Exodus 20:8-11 instructs us to "remember the sabbath day, to keep it pure."
You must work for six days and complete all of your tasks; but, the seventh day is the Lord Thy God's sabbath: Neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy livestock, nor thy stranger who is within thy gates, should undertake any labor in it: For the Lord created Heaven and Earth, the sea, and everything that is in them in six days, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed and hallowed the sabbath day.”
Romans 14:4-6 "Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another?" He stands or falls in front of his own lord. He will be made to stand, for God has the ability to do so. One person values one day more than another, whereas another values every day equally. Allow each person to be thoroughly convinced in his or her own opinion. He who observes the day does so to the Lord; he who does not observe the day does not do so to the Lord. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he thanks God; and he who does not eat, does not eat to the Lord, for he thanks God.
Because they are consumed with the goals they have set for themselves, some Children of God are not benefiting from the sabbatical rule. While setting objectives and having a vision for one's future is beneficial. Proverbs 29:18, you must be careful not to break the law; you must not break the sabbatical requirement.
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no revelation, the people abandon restraint; but blessed is he who observes the law.” You must relax when and when it is necessary.
Another reason God might want us to pay attention is that We keep the Sabbath so that we can enjoy the results of our labor. God wants us to be able to enjoy the rewards of our labor. God intends for man to enjoy the fruits of his effort. “Nothing is better for a man than to eat and drink, and to make his spirit rejoice in his labor.
This, too, I perceived as coming from God's hand.” Ecclesiastes 2:24 In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!, I pray that you will not toil for someone else to reap your harvest. Only if you set aside at least one day a week to rest and connect with God will this request be answered.
For good health and to please the Lord, you may choose any day of the week to rest from all your labor -Romans 14:4-6.
