Getting into God's priority list of the privileged few

Getting into God's priority list of the privileged few

In his sermon series Choosing What Matters Most, Pastor Brad Bailey writes "God calls us to make a priority of Him rather than people; He invites us to realize that God is not the one we pull to ourselves…but the one who we are to be drawn into". If we prioritise God; He will also prioritise us

While all people are God's children on earth, there are those who are in the priority list of God. You can call them the privileged few. Not everybody is important to God. The key to this is to know the will of God personally for your life. No matter who you are, the gospel truth is that heaven does not recognise you if you are not standing in God's will for you. We find this illustrated in Mathew 12:47-50 KJV;

"Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, ag desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!"

According to the passage of scriptures above, Jesus had a priority list. Not even his immediate family consisting of his mother, brothers and sisters made the list.

Jesus has said earlier that anyone who will follow him must deny himself, his mother and father. Hence, in Matthew 12, we see a practical demonstration of Jesus words when he chose his disciples over his family.

And the qualifications of being among this privileged few according to Jesus is "whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."

Also, Jesus made this categorisation clear in Matthew 7:21 when he says;

'Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

In other words not every professing Christian is listed in priority list of God. Not even miracles and sign workers such as pastors and prophets or even apostles. Titles does not count in this matter.

You must be in the will of God first and you must do the will of God.

Therefore, each must the will of God personally for his life and also the general will of God for his people and live it.

Some people are going about calling themselves apostles but that may not be the will of God for them. No matter how good their intentions they have missed God's will for their live. And as such in heaven records, they are not in the priority list of God.
