"Let There Be Light" Command & How Joshua Used It to Stopped the Sun

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light, Genesis 1 Verse 3

God did not bother with the aboding darkness, but used it. He gave it space in cosmos. God assigned the darkness a role to be the determiner and occupier of the night. God made darkness and light to exist side by side until he caused a separation between the two.

The human version of God’s Light there be light declaration.

Joshua too declared let there be light by pushing back invading darkness. He made darkness wait... he delayed night time. At the battle of Ajalon, darkness and light, as well as night and day existed side by side... as it was in the beginning.

Joshua tapped into the frequency of heaven... he got a rare insight into works of creation. He did what God did. He realised darkness can be suspended and light can be anchored to shine where darkness dwells or reigns.

"Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day," Joshua 10.12-14.

Like Joshua, we can command darkness. We can weary the invading forces of darkness. We can nullify, cancel and weaken the influence of darkness in a place and in lives of people, when we war with prayer.

We can delay and wear out Satan, we can frustrate his agenda as we fight to gain victory... through higher wisdom of God that comes our understanding of God's word and way.

As a matter of fact, what Joshua did at Ajalon is supposed to be every true believer's reality- to force the hands of darkness and scatter the plans of darkness. Our actions and words are meant to keep the light of God shining and reigning perpetually in our areas of existence and spheres of influence.

Matthew 5. 14-16 says; are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

We are the light that shines in the world. We are to keep darkness at bay permanently. Let there be light is the word of God that echoes throughout creation eternally- it says now- let the sons of light arise and shine...

Let there be light is a call to sons of light to let there light shine... to live the life of light. To desist from acts and works of darkness.

We shine when we live righteous life... then our light shinning is automatic.

We shine when declare with faith works of light.

When we fight to stop the works of darkness in peoples’ lives.

Let there be light- Do the works of light. Manifest light in miracles, signs and wonders.

Take away people gloominess and darkness that lurks in their minds in forms of dark thoughts and intents (with word of God and prayers).

Isaiah 60: 1-3

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.  And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising

We are light of the light of God. When God said let there be light, he anchored a part of him on physical earth... which was Jesus because Jesus is the light of the world.

As his followers whose through his light we see light, we are able to light every dark part of life on earth we light we have received from him. Jesus the light shines through us to the world.

We are light bearer- but the Lord shall arise upon us, and his glory shall be seen upon us. Hence, by virtue of this the Gentiles shall come to our light, and kings to the brightness of our rising

Indeed, we are the hope of the world; the guardians of the earth. The earth needs us to shine for it to find its way out of darkness. We are the compass for the world; it is lost without our lives of light.

Joshua knew this.

Our light shines as we take a stand for God everyday in the battle against darkness in small and great things.

So, then let your light so shine...
