Bishop Israel Makamu is now a free man. Makamu case was dropped by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). Bishop Israel Makamu is a well known bishop, television presenter as well as reality tv show star for his reality show I am bishop Makamu. The National Prosecuting Authority dropped the case against bishop Israel Makamu on Tuesday. National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson said that the withdrawal of the case came after the consultation session with the complainant and her writing a withdrawal statement. Bishop Makamu was arrested in May, he appeared before the Palmridge Magistrate court and was released on a R2000 bail. He was arrested after a young lady who is also the former employee from his church laid a charge against him. The young woman was working as a receptionist at the time. She laid a charge of him allegedly sexual assaulting her back in September 2011. In May 2021 Bishop Israel Makamu made headlines after a recording made rounds online were his voice can be heard making sexual advances to the young woman.
