"And, lo, I come shortly; and, lo, my recompense is with me, to give to each man according to his works." Revelation 22:12
Read Matthew 25:19–21
Man has been created in a way that is both beautiful and terrifying. Man is a "god" to other species since he was created in the image of God. Man was created by God Almighty for a divine purpose and for His delight. At the same time, He has set aside a prize for every man who chooses to live his life according to God's plan. This is why, in today's memory passage, Jesus Christ says that He rewards men according to their deeds.
The devoted servant who made excellent use of the talents provided to him by his master won praise in today's Bible reading. This story is most likely referring to the praise and accolades that await believers who diligently serve the Lord's purpose and interests. "Are we qualified for commendation?" asks the question in today's reading. According to Jesus Christ,
"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should stay, that whatever ye should ask of the father in my name, he may give it to you." 1 John 15:16
Someone reading this today is being encouraged by the Lord; He is aware of your labors of love in the Church and for humanity. Even if your pastor or superior does not laud you, the Almighty God will lavishly reward you if you do not tire of doing good. According to Galatians 6:9,
"And let us not get tired in doing good; because if we do not faint, we shall reap in due season."
The outspoken individual Peter inquired of the Lord about their reward, given that they had given up everything to follow Him. In response, Jesus said:
"Truly, I say unto you, there is no man who has left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my sake, or the gospel's sake, but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." Mark 10:29–30
If you want to be praised by the Lord on the last day, the first step is to surrender your life to Him. Then start working for Him, serving Him and His Church by winning souls and giving sacrificially. You will undoubtedly be praised. "I come quickly, and my recompense is with me," He remarked.
Consider how you can utilize your God-given abilities to help God's kingdom grow on earth, whether it's by donating or active soul winning.
