A prayer for wealth.

I come from old school or generation churches, which had pastors and preachers who believed that they are earthly things and heavenly things. The earthly things they believed were devilish included Tvsvand wealth.

I remember at some point when I heard him quoting a verse and as I grew, I could not help but laugh at how he seriously misinterpreted that verse. The pastor said all riches belong to the devil and all those who are rich belong to him.

These were not our modern day preachers and evangelists who are now driving top expensive motor vehicles but these pastors used to believe Jesus did not even have a horse and had to ride into Jerusalem in a stolen donkey so they walked miles to preach the Gospel.

So should Christians be poor? My answer is no. Why do I say that it's because God says all the silver and gold belong to him in Haggai 2:8. So if the silver and gold are His, that definitely makes it ours for having.

So now why and how should we pray for wealth. Is it something we should even pray for? Is it important in our lives that we acquire wealth and why? Proverbs 30:7-9. 7 "I ask two things from you, Lord. Don't refuse me before I die. 8 Keep me from lying and being dishonest. And don't make me either rich or poor; just give me enough food for each day. 9 If I have too much, I might reject you and say, 'I don't know the Lord.' If I am poor, I might steal and disgrace the name of my God.

How I love this verse from King Solomon the wise. In history and in our lives we have met very rich people who believe they made it on their own and some of them are atheists for example Richard Branson owners of Virgin companies. He has so much and he denies and rejects the Lord.

We have also met very poor people who believe and yet they have to steal so they may eat and feed their kids. Solomon says Lord may I please just have enough bread for the day. Help me to feed my kids and have enough to live an honest life. Amen
