Demystifying The God's Elect And Their Benefits

The advantages of the elect are numerous, but today we will focus on just one of them: the blessing of answered prayers. In the first place, who are the elect? “Behold my servant, whom I maintain; mine elect, in whom my soul delight......” Isaiah 42:1a.

Those with whom the Lord is delighted are known as the elect. How can one become a God-pleasing object? The Holy Spirit responds to this question in Psalm 147:11, saying, “The LORD delighteth in them who fear him, in those who hope in his mercy.”

Because God has given everyone free will, we all have a part to play in being counted among His elect. God has favorites, whether people believe it or not. By fearing Him and wanting to walk in His ways, you can choose to be one of His favorites.

As a man, God favored Jesus Christ because He willingly offered Himself to do God's will (Hebrews 10:5, Philippians 2:5-11). As a result, God proclaimed about Him in Matthew 3:17, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

It's no surprise that when Jesus was in the flesh, He reaped the most benefit from answered prayers. “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me,” He murmured at the burial of His friend Lazarus in John 11:41c-42. And I knew that thou always hearest me; but I spoke it for the sake of the people who stand by, so that they could believe that thou hast sent me.”

The Lord hears the righteous' plea, according to Proverbs 15:29. We obtain righteousness as a gift of grace through trust in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22, Romans 5:17). To acquire God's righteousness, which qualifies us to be counted among His elect, we must have faith. This issue of faith is so critical if we are to benefit from answered prayers that when Jesus spoke on the importance of persistence in prayer, He asked in Luke 18:8b, "Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

Everyone must respond individually to this question. If you want your prayers to be answered, you must be one of God's elect. God hears the elect's cries and reacts favorably to their prayers. If you devote your life to Christ now and continue to live by faith in His word, you will receive this reward.

Only the voice of His sheep is recognized by the Good Shepherd. If your prayers aren't answered, it's time to evaluate your life and faith.
