Overcoming Fear in This Season - Part 1

The world is currently going through heart-crashing situations. The pandemic has become rampant and vigorous. I am not aware of how much is going on around the world, because I’m not really listening much to international news, but locally the pandemic is taking the lives of hundreds of people – young and old, rich and poor, famous people including politicians.

There are high levels of fear and panic everywhere, which is justifiable! But in all that is going on has God ceased to be God? Is it that God has turned a blind eye to the suffering of His people or is it because there is so much sin that God’s grace and mercy cannot cover human beings again? Or has God's love ceased? Or is God punishing the people of the earth for their transgressions and wickedness? Or has the Blood and the Name of Jesus lost their power? I am sure there are many other questions flying around.

Here are some Bible verses to help all of us to keep trusting in God through this trying time. He is God in every circumstance. Much as it may sound funny – Scripture says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” [Romans 8:28] – Yes, All things!

Pray as you meditate on the Bible verses below - let them build your faith and my faith.

1.   Joshua 1:8-9, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

8.   Isaiah 43:1, But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

FROM THE BOOK OF JOHN

9.   John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

FROM THE BOOK OF PHILIPPIANS

10. Philippians 4:6-7, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

11. 2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Remember that in all these things God remains God. Whether we live or die He is the same God. [Opinion]
