Prayer: Lord, By Your Grace, Make Me To Be Submissive To Learning And Grow In Life And Ministry

"As I am of Christ, be you followers of me." 1 Corinthians 11:1

Read: Luke 2:46-50

Wise people completely surrender to God. If you want to perform at a higher level in the future, you must pay close attention to what your mentor is doing while you are being mentored. Elisha had watched Elijah part the waters and tried to imitate him. He was the beneficiary of his own miracle. Young individuals frequently believe that they are wiser than their elders.

This anecdote is one I regularly tell ambitious young people. "When you're as old as I am, you'll understand why I can't sleep at night," I informed my natural and spiritual offspring. You'll understand why I take prayer walks two or three times a day, and frequently at night. You'll also see why I fast so frequently."

"He reveals the deep and hidden things: he sees what is hidden in the darkness, and the light dwells with him." Daniel 2:22

Following your teacher's lead is the most effective method to learn. Instead of inventing your own letters and symbols, you learn to write by imitating what is put down for you to see. You can subsequently develop your own distinctive handwriting, but you must first learn to replicate what is given to you. Jesus spent thirty years training for a three-and-a-half-year ministry. Unfortunately, many people today believe that three years of ministry schooling or training is all they need for a lifetime of service.

Your mentor may not know everything, but he does know something. As a result, you must just learn from him by God's grace. It is my desire that as you develop in Him, the Lord will reveal to you his intended works of healing the sick, releasing the imprisoned, and prospering the impoverished. When David stated, "I give the remainder of my life to you; do anything you want with it," he caught the essence of following the Lord (Psalm 23:1).

Self-rule has no place in true Christianity; once we entrust our hearts and future in Jesus' hands, He will bring our humble beginnings to a spectacular conclusion. You will obtain what Jesus got if you do what Jesus did.
