And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and sat upon each of them, And they were all filled with the Holly Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4
And Peter , standings up with the eleven, lifted his voice, and said unto them , Ye Men of Judaea and all ye that that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words. Acts 2:14
[02/10, 08:31] Manzini: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37
Peter was a coward denied Jesus before sinners. He couldn't address the crowds to repentance. However, on the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost came and filled them, they all spoke in other tongues. After speaking in tongues there was a divine unction released through tongues. The same Peter who denied Jesus, under divine auction lifted up his voice, and after He preached the crowd were pricked in their hearts and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren what shall we do? It was because of the massage presented by a man with unction that they were pricked in their hearts.
Divine unction came through speaking in tongues, and it is unction which makes a preaching to be quick, piecing even to the dividing asunder of Soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerned of the thoughts and Intents of the heart. Preaching without divine unction is dead and dry. The unction is the art of preaching. The preacher without the unction has lost the art of preaching.
