PRAYER: Lord, Please Help Me To Keep My Gaze Fixed On You Rather Than Being Distracted By The Storms

"We are looking to Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith" (Heb. 12:21).

The situation of Peter in our text could be compared to a football squad that started out strong but couldn't keep up the pace. In the midst of tremendous storms and furious winds, Peter saw Jesus walking on water. The entire group of Jesus' disciples, including him, had believed they had seen a ghost.

They were terrified and worried that their lives would be cut short since the wind was blowing against them and their boat was being buffeted by huge waves. But, in the midst of the storm, Christ was on the other side of the sea, walking towards them. "Take courage!" Jesus exhorted them. It's me. "Do not be alarmed." "Lord, if it is you, tell me to come on the lake," Peter said alone.

Then, in the middle of the storms, Jesus asked Peter to come near Him on the water. Yes, he did! However, the violent storms soon distracted Peter, and he failed to fix his gaze on Christ, who had invited him to come. And he started sinking right away!

How often and how rapidly we collapse when we fail to disregard roaring distractions and act like Peter instead of Christ. It has been suggested that we keep our gaze fixed on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. We will not sink like Peter if we do so. Carry forth whatever the Lord has instructed you to do. Don't allow distractions to enter your mind; instead, focus on the Master and watch your business grow.

MANAGEMENT OF THOUGHT When we fail to avoid roaring distractions and shift our focus away from Christ, we begin to drown.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to keep my gaze fixed on You rather than being distracted by the storms. Amen

Say the above prayer with Faith, hope and trust in the Lord, wait for to solve your problems. Remember, prayer is a way to communicate with the Lord.
