Pastor Aloysius Bugingo is a Ugandan born again pastor and businessman. He is the Director of Salt Media, and a church in Makerere, Kikoni, Kampala, the House of Prayer Ministries International (also known as Canaan land). He was named the most influential born-again preacher by the East Africa Book of Records
Bugingo, the lead pastor of the House of Prayer Ministries in Kampala, allegedly ordered his congregation to set ablaze, particular copies of Bibles on grounds that they were heavily edited and deceptive. The holy books, which included Good News and King James versions of the Bible, he also said that they are misleading.
He said some of the lines that have been tampered with in the translations were those which talk about fasting and the Lent period. He also claimed the King James Bible version contained the word ‘Holy Ghost’ more times than it did the word ‘Holy Spirit’.
The pastor had collected the Bibles from his 6,000-member congregation and set them on fire. He also charged that words “fasting” and “Lent” had been omitted from the books without explanation.
The Good News Bible is a translation of the American Bible Society.
The pastor has recently divorced his wife after many many years of marriage. He bought a brand new range rover and he has a girlfriend. Here are pictures of him and his girlfriend down here
