Pictures of Ramaphosa Enjoying in Europe as The Nation is Plunged Into Darkness

South Africans On social media, especially Twitter, are taking their time out to pour out their hearts regarding the power crisis, saying that Ramaphosa left them in darkness and went abroad to start enjoying his life. Ramaphosa is attending a leadership meeting known as G7 in Europe. Barney Mthombothi wrote, while you sat freezing in the dark, your president was having the time of his life in Europe, gallivanting with the most powerful men in the world". Several people have taken out their frustration against Eskom CEO, Andre De Ruyter, and president Cyril Ramaphosa, lamenting that Eskom is deteriorating under their watch. They argued that things are no longer the same, as Barney Mthombothi puts it, “Ramaphosa is abroad mingling with people he has often described as greedy colonisers, and worse. He was relaxed, cheerful and seemed thoroughly at home. He is, at heart, the quintessential Europhile, our president”.

Many people are criticizing the president for not doing something about it. Simon Grindrod wrote, “The same Ramaphosa who called ‘family meetings’ almost every week to impose Covid-19 restrictions is missing in action when the nation suffers during a power, fuel, and food price crisis”. Another person said that Ramaphosa is not even disturbed or perturbed by the looming energy crisis, saying that he is busy enjoying himself abroad. A very upset South African and the Democratic Alliance politician, Dean MacPherson wrote earlier today, “A reminder that the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa has absolutely NOTHING to say about Eskom since he’s been back in the country 4 days ago, and even longer since his trip to Germany 1 week ago. We have a mute for a president”.
