Ace Magashule has given his "much-loved" party a huge headache, their issue has even reached the courts. Magashule might however be fighting a losing battle as two of his fellow party members have been suspended and they left their positions gracefully pending their investigations respectively.

ANC KZN deputy chair Mike Mabuyakhulu and NEC member Mduduzi Manana deposed affidavits in support of the case against Magashule — a significant move as both had already stepped aside in line with party policy

In their affidavits the two politicians say they accepted their fates as this was in the best interests of the ANC and of the country.

Manana was forced to resign as the deputy minister of higher education following an assault case that was opened against him.

Mabuyakhulu, who is facing corruption charges related to a R28m North Sea Jazz Festival case and is out on R50,000 bail, had to vacate his position as the deputy chairperson of the ANC in KZN last month after the party adopted the step aside guidelines.

Magashule has been refusing to step aside following his much publicized corruption charges. The former premier of free state is currently out on bail after his arrest for his alleged involvement in the Estina Dairy Farm and the asbestos deal in the Free State.

Magashule has maintained his innocence and vowed to fight his suspension. In his bid to fight, he suspended party president Cyril Ramaphosa, in his "capacity" as the secretary general.

Magashule has in turn sought legal service of Advocate Dali Mpofu to represent him in court.
