Malema speaks out during EFF rally

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema on Sunday was speaking at a rally in Kliptown in commemoration of the anniversary of the adoption of the Freedom Charter.

Malema said despite the adoption of the Freedom Charter in 1955, South Africa is still lagging behind on many issues with one of the main issues facing the country being joblessness and security.

Malema addressed EFF members at a rally on Sunday he said "Today is no government back. And we want it in the hands of black people. We want the people's government. We don't want Oppenheimer government... We don't want Rupert's government". Malema said.

Johann Rupert is the founder of the Swiss luxury goods holding company Richemont, he is one of SA's richest man in the country. He was unseat on the number one spot by Nicky Oppenheimer. He is the former chairperson of De Beers diamond mining, he sold his 40% of the firm to mining group Anglo American for $5.1 billion.
