Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa and the African National Congress, has begun his campaign for the next Local Government elections, which are set to take place on November 1st, 2021.
They, like many politicians, like to start their election campaigns in their home town, where they believe they have a strong base of support.
On Saturday, August 18, 2021, President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa did the same thing, as it was the first day of his election campaign, and it was also Independent Electoral Commission registration weekend, so he was also recruiting people to register to vote.
President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa visited his hometown of SOWETO, but inhabitants of Soweto Naledi determined to prevent him from accessing his hometown.
Service delivery protests greeted Ramaphosa, and he had to rely on police officers to clear a path for him to enter Naledi SOWETO and commence his campaign program.
