Hlaudi to run for election while he owes millions to SABC

The past week has been a busy one for former SABC Hlaudi Motsoeneng who has found himself having to address two issues. The former SABC COO is weighing up his political options, while the fight with his former employers has gotten ugly leaving him to deal with some serious allegations

According to SABC Motsoeneng owes them millions in various fees,Hlaudi himself had said he can only pay a small amount of the money on a monthly basis and the pressure is mounting as the public broadcaster is asking for a payment of R850 000 from Motsoeneng relating to his legal fees, they are also chasing him for R11m paid as part of a R30m "success fee"

The fee was commanded for negotiating a R500million deal with Multichoice which didn't end well when Multichoice ended up with access to all of SABCs archives.Hlaudi has told the SABC that he could only be able to pay them 20 000 rands per month

While all that is going on his political party The Afrucan Content Movement (ACM) has confirmed their position on the 2021 local government elections, they have also submitted an application to the court in support of a postponement of the ballot until early next year, they said this will benefit rural and disabled voters

They have also confirmed that Hlaudi will be deployed to one of two regions where ACM plan to seize power at local level in the Free State and they will be contesting the elections in Maluti-A-Phofoung municipality and the district of the Mofutsanyana

The elections are supposed to take place in October but some of the political parties and organizations have called for postponement until next year due to pandemic
