Violence Against Foreign Nationals Will Not Be Tolerated, Minister Naledi Pandor.

The minister of international relations Dr Naledi Pandor has come out to condemn the brutal attack and killing of a Zimbabwean national in Diepsloot on Wednesday night. The Zimbabwean man was later identified as Elvis Nyathi.

The man was reported to have been scared by the group of men that had came to his house and demanded that he produce his passport, but unfortunately he attempted to escape but was then caught and then beaten, stoned to death and was then burnt to death. Minister Pandor condemned this attack. Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Coperation(SABC), minister Pandor said "we have to document everyone who is in the country, we have always allowed those who come to our country to live in our communities. We as a government we have to listen to our people but any form of violence against anyone will not be tolerated", she concluded.

Overnight the situation in Diepsloot appeared to have calmed down on Thursday night, this was after Police minister Bheki Cele and new Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola had visited the area. Cele is also expected to visit the area again on Friday.
