SuzanPhala, DA Spokesperson on Social Development, claims that, with the exception of Social Development MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale, MECs have not responded to written inquiries from opposition members of the Provincial Legislature since 2020.
The Premier's Office and the council have given in to the DA's concerns.
According to Phala, the MECs' leadership, who have not replied to written inquiries from resistance members of the council, should not be allowed to continue without serious consequences.
For all intents and purposes, a majority of the sittings have been kept since the pandemic episode.
According to Phala, the MECs are not letting the assembly run the show.
"We find their behavior to be incredibly unparliamentary, and we believe it should not continue without significant repercussions from the House, as it undermines the nobility and order of the House. In 2020, 72 written inquiries were sent to the leader, and only the Department of Social Development responded, and they continue to ignore our written inquiries. We found it odd that the speaker wanted to ensure the head in bookkeeping for his sake "She continues.
As a result, Solly Chego, the Legislature's Spokesperson, agreed that the opposition, DA, is legitimately concerned.
"That is a legitimate concern. The speaker of the council used to assist individuals in remembering the leader in order to respond to questions. Indeed, even in this half-and-half setting, more than four different MECs are constantly present responding to questions. The matter will be coordinated with Seaparo Sekwati, the head of government company "Chego says
Furthermore, Willie Mosoma, spokesperson for the Office of the Premier, says the DA's concerns will be conveyed to the Treasury MEC, Seaparo Sekwati, who is in charge of administration.
"Chief Mathabatha says the DA's concerns are valid; as a result, the Premier will meet with the head of government company, MEC Seaparo Sekwati, and all MECs to assure them that all inquiries from ideological groups in the lawmaking body are addressed."
Obviously, Premier Mathabatha asserts that the issue of questions and answers is not a part of administration conveyance agreement with MECs.
