Zimbabwe: Former wife of Vice President forced to arrive in court in an ambulance

In a scene that has left Zimbabweans in shock, the former wife of the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Mary Mubaiwa had no option but to arrive in court in an ambulance, a few hours after a warrant for her arrest had been issued for failing to turn up in court to stand her trial for allegedly assaulting her child minder.

The Warrant of arrest got issued a for Mary Mubaiwa, who is the ex wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, after having failed to attend court for start of her trial for allegedly assaulting her child minder. Her lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa had highlighted to the Magistrate that her client was critically ill at home , but the Magistrate would not take any of it.

According to, even though Mary got to the court in an ambulance, she is yet to exit the ambulance.The lawyer representing Mary , Beatrice Mtetwa had earlier on informed the court that Mary was in bed at home, gravely ill. With the Magistrate not taking any of this , she was forced to come to court after an arrest warrant was issued despite her condition
