Minister of Home Affairs has accused NGOs of trying to dislodge the state. HSF is fighting for ZEP

The minister of Home Affairs Doctor Aaron Motswaledi has announced the termination of the Zimbabwean Exempt Permits by the end of this year. Many Zimbabweans have enjoyed stay in our country through the ZEP and the minister want them to be treated like any other immigrant.

The Helen Suzman Foundation has taken it upon itself to take the government to court fighting for ZEP. The foundation accused the government of not consulting enough, not giving those who followed due process a chance and not allowing some to regularise their stay.

The minister has retaliated to the impending court case by the HSF by saying that some NGOs are trying to dislodge the Democratically elected government through frivolous court cases.

It has become a norm in our country for organisations, NGOs and political parties to take the state to court fighting for foreigners. There are many issues in the country that needs champions such the rising fuel and electricity costs and the never ending loadshedding.
