Social media turned into a war zone, following Julius Malema's interview with a SABC journalist following his touching speech during his manifesto rally.
In the interview, the commander in chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters, was asked for his views on the allegations that his rally was breaking the regulations which were set by the IEC in efforts to prevent a super spreader event and hopefully delay the much anticipated fourth wave- and this is what he had to say:
"We are not going to comply with those things anymore, i was watching the news yesterday and Cyril had a rally in Tembisa and it was packed. None of you said anything about it, you all ignored it. This is an attack on the EFF. Cyril had more people in Tembisa, he always has more people everywhere. These nonsensical regulations that must apply to the EFF are not going to happen. Even the DA thinking that they will take action against us, they must start with Cyril. We wont be outsmarted by fools. These lock down regulations no longer make sense, they are useless" Said angry Julius Malema.
Although Julius Malema might have made these comments out of anger, but there has been some truth to it. It has been a while since the lock down regulations made sense to anyone, hence people people started breaking them without thinking twice.
