Today, it was reported that the Constitutional Court denied Ace Magashule's request to appeal his suspension as secretary-general of the African National Congress. Magashule had asked the court to do this.
In December 2022, the African National Congress will hold an election conference. After that, a new leader will take over, and Ace Magashule will no longer be in charge.
Now, the African National Congress doesn't want anyone who has been charged with a crime or who has been linked to a crime to run for any party positions.
He said that he is going to the conference, step aside or not. What was he doing at concourt if the branches needed him there?
In a short ruling, the highest court said Magashule had no chance of getting his suspension overturned. This is yet another time he has lost in court over this issue.
