They claim that such utterances are meant to cause divisions within the ANC, and that these also were some of the old apartheid tactics that were used to frustrate the renewal and unity of the movement.
Thabo Mbeki who started being active in the ANC after spending so many years in hibernation during Jacob Zuma's era, was described by Julius Malema as someone who was angry that he could not finish his term. Malema said that was why the former president was working with Fraser to try and bring Ramaphosa down.
The red beret leader said the notion that Arthur Fraser was working with RET forces of the ANC was not true. He said the RET forces simply used the exposé made by Fraser to start their campaign against Cyril Ramaphosa. The former intelligence head, was described as a Zuma man after he released him from prison on parole.
Even though Thabo Mbeki's Foundation has refuted these claims made by Julius Malema, some critics argue that there is no smoke without fire and that there has been some tell tale signs.
"As if the Foundation will confirm this if it was true. Some of Mbeki's public utterances have been anti Ramaphosa like when he called out Stan Mathabatha for endorsing Cyril's second term," some said.
"At least the ANC is getting a taste of their own medicine. Since it's conception the ANC has used underhanded tactics to discredit and destroy opposition parties."
Now that Thabo Mbeki's Foundation has rejected these utterances, some feel that Julius Malema is going to make a counter attack, and it will be known who is lying and who is telling the truth.
