What Julius Malema said during EFF presser suggest coalition government negotiations will take time

South African Political parties embarked on a possible coalition government following the highly contested local government elections. However, for days, major South African political parties have been finding it hard to agree on each other's conditions.

And on Tuesday, the Economic Freedom fighters held a press briefing which dealt primarily with recent developments. As expected, Julius Malema who is the President of the party was the one addressing the media in light of recent developments.

As already alluded above, South African Political parties have been locked in possible coalition government negotiations. And Julius Malema has thus far revealed that the ANC wanted to rush into discussing power sharing and positions in municipalities before discussing the principles and policies raised by the EFF. The EFF has since publicized its conditions for agreeing on possible coalition government.

Julius Malema went on to indicate that "The Negotiations Team held two meetings with the ANC and did not establish any consensuses on anything because the ANC delegation did not concede to any of the negotiations principles and policies which we believe should form the foundation of any collaboration"

While addressing the media, the EFF leader Julius Malema pointed out that the EFF will never support any candidates that has been put forward by the ANC in all South African Municipalities.

In his own words, Julius Malema stated the following "The EFF will not be voting for and will not support any candidate put forward by the ANC in all Municipalities for all positions including positions of Speakers, Chief Whips and Mayors"

If Julius Malema's revelations is anything to go by: there is some indication that the possible coalition government negotiations will take some time. However, at this point in time, it remains to be seen how will things unfold in the coming days or weeks.

The leader of the Economic Freedom fighters, Julius Malema further said "The EFF will not vote for Political Parties that did not approach us for coalition discussions"

Another point which Malema emphasized is that "We are not desperate to govern. We are not going to compromise the fundamental principles of the EFF"
