It is nolonger a secret that the African National Congress didn't perfom well on the past local government elections which was held on the 1st of November 2021. Yes in overall votes, African National Congress have won but because they also didn't reach 50 percent plus threshold, results of coalition negotiations matters most.
On monday, most of municipalities held the sworn in session for councillors and also electing Mayors and speakers.
Democratic Alliance came out victorious with them winning over municipalities and African National Congress loosing metros and for the first time in history.
At first the African National Congress head of elections blamed Julius Malema for ANC loss, then later denied that they've lost elections. Now the same person is blaming the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) that they are reason why the African National Congress didn't perfom, unfortunate for him, SABC rejected the allegations.
