It appears that the Eastern Cape has been the talk of the week and not for good reasons but rather the bad reasons. One could say the Eastern Cape is the Utopia for any ANC member to be a councilor in the communities in the Eastern Cape. This is because they can freely out money that is meant to help the community and the province as a whole, into their pockets.
The latest drama was the incident where the ANC revealed that they used R15 million to build a stadium. They thought that they would receive praise from the country however they received the opposite. Any sensible person can clearly see that the stadium built isn't worth R15 million meaning that the money could have been looted just as usual. This is for sure going to affect the ANC when the elections come.
Another incident that has been brought up depicts the Mayor of Engcobo local municipality opening a newly constructed road. That isn't even something to be proud about nor to unveil. We are living in the 21st century yet we still have places that don't have proper roads. It appears that the ANC think that the people of South Africa are a joke because they clearly know that they can get away with anything they do.
The people of the Eastern Cape should make their voices heard or else the ANC will continue to sweep the floor with them. Even though such cases have arisen, you will still find some ANC supporters who will completely turn a blind eye to this incident and still vote for the ANC.
