OPINION| The Mistake That Ramaphosa Made on National Television About the Lockdown Restrictions

South Africans are played from the constitution to policies and to election promises. For example, they elect politicians to take political decisions but big political decisions are blocked and changed by Concourt using the same tricky constitution. Concourt judges end up making laws or instructing politicians to make laws they think must be made

Constitution will say everyone has a right to access to housing then add conditions like: Provided there are available means. That make this right to be meaningless. Writers of constitution made tricky statement with open ended and ambiguous meanings. Concourt judges capitalised on that open ended meaning of gender to legalize LGBTQ rights. Business are forced by law to sell their product using advertised price but politicians are not forced to keep their election promises by law. They are allowed to promise lies and get away with crime.

South Africa have good policies which are hardly implementable. Some policies dealing with same people clashes. The example is the policies of Department of Social Development on disable people and White paper 6 by Department of Basic Education on accommodation of disable learners on schools. Both policies are influence by United Nations but they have clashes.

South Africa government led by ANC commit silly obvious mistakes and get away with it. We are now on level 1 but take note of the numbers indoor and outdoor and numbers on funerals. Then ask yourself where are funerals? Are they indoor or outdoor? Bereaved people who want to bid goodbye are badly penalised with small numbers. The ANC is really confused or its because they want to use this opportunity when campaigning because they also travel in groups lying to people, singing the same song that they will do good things if all South Africans vote for them, but the truth is, the citizens are tired of empty promises
