All Is Not Well For Former Botswana President Ian khama Who's ln South Africa

The former Botswana head of state, lan Khama was summoned to appear before a court on Thursday to face alleged numerous crimal cases.

He was painted with the same brush along with three others including an ex-intelligence chief, a former police commissioner and ex-deputy permanent secretary.

All three are reported to face 38 charges.

Being in possession of unregistered firearms is one of the alleged criminal charges faced by Ian Khama.

In consideration of illegal firearms under Botswana laws, being in possession of unregularised guns could lure a maximum penalty of 10 years behind bars.

Ian Khama, the son of former Botswana president, Seretse Khama, ruled Botswana from 2008 to 2018.

In the year 2021, lan Khama, went into self-imposed exile in South Africa.

The court summons against the former Botswana president, lan, comes ahead of a meeting with Cyril Ramaphosa in Pretoria on Friday with current Botswana President, Masisi, pictured below.

Seretse Khama, the father of Ian Khama, was the first Botswana President who served from 1966 to his death in 1980.
