Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema who was campaigning ahead of local government elections in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape province has declared that on the first of November the EFF will be taking over.
Malema said the resounding welcome he received in the Eastern Cape province which is a stronghold for the ANC is a warning shot which reveals that on the first of November they will fire real bullets in the ballot box by voting for the Economic Freedom Fighters.
"This is a warning shot. On November 1 we’re firing a real bullet and that bullet is an X. We’re taking Ward 22," said Malema.
Malema says his party will give people decent housing with toilets inside the house and not outside when the EFF comes into power. He adds that the houses under the EFF will have three bedrooms and a dining room in order for children to be proud of where they come from.
"When you’re propertyless you become a suspect but when you own property, you don’t worry about things that don’t matter to you and you talk with confidence because you’re an owner.
When we speak about land, we talk about ownership. Land is everything. When settlers came here, they didn’t take everything, not our wives but land. We want our land, the beach, the oceans and the dagga. Don’t ask us what we’ll do with it," he said.
The red beret leader also promised to create jobs for everyone and push for citizens to have quality education.
"We want everyone to have a job and not every job requires a matric. A cleaner and street sweeper doesn’t require matric. Many of you didn’t leave school out of choice but circumstance to feed your family.
When you work as a sweeper, you’ll qualify for a scholarship because now you work for the municipality and eventually you’ll end up in the office because you would have studied," he said.
