Herman Mashaba Says He Is Personally Ashamed Because Of This One Thing That Has Been Happening.
Last week chaos erupted at this year's first Johannesburg City of Council sitting. The sitting had been postponed to this week but it seems that things are not going according to plan once again.
Herman Mashaba took to social media to express his disappointment concerning what is happening and how shameful he personally was as they continue to see their paychecks.
@HermanMashaba "I am beyond appropriate words to inform South Africans that the second sitting of @CityofJoburgZA Council, which was criminally disrupted last week, has not as yet started. Councilors are finding every opportunity to delay the proceedings. 10:00 to 12:20, no business".
It seems that the sitting has not started and has been delayed as they keep requesting breaks. "Another 30 minutes Caucus break requested. This is the 3rd Caucus break being requested since 10:00, including disruptions. 3 hours gone before Council business is discharged".
ActionSA leader continued to stated that he was personally ashamed. @HermanMashaba "As I said last week, we have already received our 3rd paycheck last Friday as Councilors to serve residents, but I am personally ashamed because I have nothing to show for my paycheck to account to our residents".
Mashaba seems to be blaming these delayed sittings on the inability to do work ans serve the residents. Yet the councilors continue to receive their payments without actually working.
Perhaps Mashaba is right to be ashamed because residents should be put first, these people should be serving the people instead of politics. Their payments should actually be stalled until they can actually show that they have been working.
Do you think that councillors should be receiving their paychecks even when they have nothing to show for? What are your thoughts on this?.
