After resigning last week as premier of KZN, Sihle Zikalala has a new role, as reported by the press

Sihle Zikalala, who resigned as premier of KwaZulu-Natal last week, has a new job, according to a report.

When he unexpectedly submitted his resignation as Premier of KwaZulu-Natal province last week, it caught everyone by surprise. This was after he suffered a defeat at the most recent provincial elective conference of the African National Congress.

Many speculated that Sihle Zikalala's desire to move up the ranks of the African National Congress was motivated by his anger at having lost his post.

A cabinet change was announced by the new premier of KwaZulu-Natal province today, and it came as a surprise to everyone when the incumbent, Sihle Zikalala, was appointed to the position of deputy premier.

Sihle Zikalala has been appointed to head the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

The newly elected provincial executive of KwaZulu-Natal consists of smart, empathetic, youthful, and progressive individuals. Sihle Zikalala's inclusion is welcome news as well; the province could have used his leadership skills while he served as Premier.
