Tito Mboweni Reacts To South Africa's Poor Constitution

It seems South Africa's Constitution is also conferring it's Politician headache or making them battle hard times. Following the news update Tito Mboweni decided to give a quick reaction on his twitter handle with the suggestion that South Parties should hold a brief meeting and agree on reconstructing Her (South Africa's) constitution. He wrote, "We really and truly require a multiparty conversation and agreement on changing our constitution. Why? We need a President and Prime Minister roles to be enshrined in the Constitution. Think. Don’t howl!"

With one of the most bloated cabinet structures in the world, we can't even fix the basics. Adding more layers and incompetents is not going to solve a thing. It is about quality and not quantity. South Africa need much more than that; the State is playing a subservient role to the judicial system. The judicial is too powerful and detrimental to the State’s leverage to engage in effective meaningful economic reforms. And the judicial is protecting the neoliberal wealth.

The current system is unsustainable. We are heading towards coalition politics, with the way the ANC is losing seats in Parliament. And coalition usually collapses a lot, meaning that our government will always have disruptions. We have the most sophisticated constitution globally. Our problem is implementing it. We are good at talking but lack follow through it while implementing nothing.

The National Prosecuting Authority NPA must move away from department of justice, it will be like chapter nine constitution. Chief Justice as head of judiciary must run administration of courts not minister. The minister must deal with policies. I am fully in support of this but my concern with him is this. Whenever he is in power he is not vocal about any real positive change. Yet when he is not in power he will want to take change. I think this is him being two faced to be honest, with all due respect.

Reactions from majority of his followers states that this was what he should have implemented years back, when he was in power.
