President Cyril Ramaphosa will not act on Oscar Mabuyane: Opinion

The issue of the premier of Eastern Cape Oscar Mabuyane has really opened a can of worms for many. People want to see accountability and they want to see the law being applied to all South Africans equally. We know that the president has never acted decisively on any member of the ANC who has found themselves mixed up in some allegations of corruption and we should not be confused this time around and think that he will do anything.

People just got away with being suspended as we saw with the former minister of health Zweli Mkhize. We also saw with Khusela Diko who was placed on leave for so many months and she was being paid her full salary during that time. She is now back in full force and nothing has happened to her.

People are now asking themselves if the president will be able to act on Oscar Mabuyane and we do know that it won't happen any time soon since Oscar Mabuyane also indictated that he will be taking the matter on review. So just to be frank, the president won't do anything about this matter. Mabuyane is not criminally charge and we know that te president always says that we must allow for processes to take place.
