Minutes of the family meeting

Whether of not you were home in time for the Statesman to address the nation, here are the minutes so we can refer when we need to in avoidance to breaking the regulations.

The country remains at alert level 4 until 25 July.

1. All social, political, religious and other gatherings remain prohibited.

2. Curfew remains in place from 9pm to 4am

3. The sale of alcohol remains prohibited

4. Schools remain closed until 26 July

5. Wearing of a mask remains mandatory

6. Restaurant and eateries can operate not accommodating more than 50 people. For smaller venues not more than 50% of their normal capacity

7. Gyms and fitness centres may open

8. Agricultural livestock and game auctions are allowed

All allowed activities are subject to the conditions outlined in the regulations.

The President addressed the issue of violent protests and looting. "Let us be clear as a nation, that we will not tolerate acts of criminality. Those who are involved in acts of violence will be arrested and prosecuted."

He sent a stern warning: "Those found guilty of breaking the lockdown regulations will receive the stipulated penalty. This will be done without fear or favor"
