A South African citizen who goes by the name of Raymond Mboniseni Shezi made an unflattering statement about the South African president, who is also known as a prominent businessman, Cyril. Following Cyril Ramaphosa's speech at the Black Business Council summit dinner, the president told the South African citizens that "We are implementing targeted interventions to support black businesses in areas of manufacturing such as furniture, iron and steel, petroleum, chemicals, and agro-processing."
Numerous South African citizens were left boiling in anger after he said, "Rather, slow progress in the pace of economic transformation is what is holding back our nation’s development." Black economic empowerment has not enabled corruption. It was corrupt, in both the private and public sectors, who enabled state capture.
Below are some of the comments that were made by some of our fellow South African citizens on Twitter.
Ramaphosa is a joke. He is two-faced and does not care about black people at all. He, just like the African National Congress, used black people to get control so they could enrich their families and friends. Cyril Ramaphosa can tell us about him not knowing what went wrong because he was a Deputy President and everything happened under your nose and you were mum about all the happenings. Even under your administration, corruption is at an all-time high. You have not done anything about any of the findings. You are not different. You are the African National Congress and you are also corrupt.
Millions are still waiting for their land to be empowered, so when are you extending the Restitution Land Issue? Only then can we talk about empowerment to rectify the injustices of the past that Apartheid created. If the ANC wasn't this corrupt, maybe things wouldn't have been this expensive. The high cost of electricity is a result of a poorly run Eskom. That has nothing to do with slow economic growth or even the COVID 19 pandemic.
Do you think that Cyril Ramaphosa is the main cause of the problems that South Africa is facing right now? Please leave your views in the comment section below.
