Former minister of health Dr Zweli Mkhize could face criminal charges for his role in Digital vibes contract,in which associates of his were awarded irregular R150 m communication contract by the department of health department.On 29 septemeber 2021 ,president Ramaphosa has signed off on the release of the spescial investigation unit report into irregular awarding of R150 m communication contract by the department known as digital vibes matter.Ramaphosa received report in july 2021 with the presidency saying in a statement that had sent notice to all third parties ,giving them opportunities to object to its publication.The release was done in the interest of fairness interms of promotion of the access to information act(PAIA)..The presidency said following a number of PAIA application by persons and parties who wished to have sight on the report.The report includes there was a distinct lack of oversight by the former health minister DR zweli mkhize.Pending on SUI investigation ,Digital Vibes was merely a front company used by close associates of former health minister to enriched themselves..The company was used as a front being exploited by ms Tahera Mather and should not be allowed to do bussiness with state. According to SIU ,Mather associates of zweli mkhize had used a petrol station garage manager ,Radha Harrium as a front shield that they were the true owners and controllers od digital vibes. The obtained evidence indicates that though de jure digital vibes belonged to MS Mather and MS Mitha were in complete control of the activities of,and the bank accounts belonging to digital vibes,,report reads.
